The rest of this web site is divided into sections with differing levels of detail:

Introduction: This tells you about the different pollutants which cause poor air quality, where they come from, what concentrations may cause adverse health effects, and who decides on the safe levels of pollutants. It also tells you about the Governments National Air Quality Strategy and what this means for local authorities. A general brochure about Hillingdon air quality can be downloaded from here.

Local Air Quality Management: This section is all about what Hillingdon Borough Council is doing to assess it's air quality, and the measures which have been and will be put in place to improve areas of poor air quality. Occasionally there will be reports published in this section for public consultation, you can then click on a button to send back your comments.

Air Quality Monitoring: This tells you more about where and how air quality is monitored in the Borough.

Air Quality Data: Links to the latest summaries and graphs of air quality levels today and over the past week. For those wanting more detail, additional pages enable you to view or download a longer history of Hillingdon's air quality. This part of the site is aimed primarily at researchers and academics, and as a result the data are quite specialist in nature.

Air Quality Progress Report for 2011

The latest Air Quality Progress Report for the time period 2009-2010 was submitted to DEFRA and the GLA for comments in May 2011. This has now been approved and can be downloaded here. This report gives an overview of the air quality monitoring throughout the borough and updates on the action plan measures taken to make improvements in local air quality.

Update and Screening Assessment Report May 2009

In line with DEFRA guidance Hillingdon submitted the above report to DEFRA and the GLA for comments and approval. This has now been given and the report can be downloaded here. This report looks in details at the air quality monitoring data within the borough and the sources of emissions affecting the air quality levels.
